ROLLING SECURITY SHUTTERS

Rolling security shutters are comprised of commercial-grade aluminum components including guide rails, a box housing, curtain, and bottom bar.

Shutters can be operated manually or with motorized options for effortless control and convenience.

Guide Rails

Guide rails are located on either side of the rolling shutter. They are connected to the box housing and extend down to the bottom of the shutter. The guide rails hold the curtain in place and act as a track, guiding the curtain up and down. Pentagon guide rails can be equipped with our industry best end-retention system called AnchorLoc. A shutter equipped with AnchorLoc has robust anchors on both sides of the curtain which anchor into the guide rails and provide further reinforcement to protect against forced entry and high winds.

Curtain Series

There are multiple curtain series options offered by Pentagon, each serving a different purpose with many color and design options.

Foam filled slats are constructed from roll-formed aluminum and regular density foam, designed for low-security applications and provide an insulation and sound barrier.

Extruded aluminum slats are designed for security applications, due to the strong commercial-grade extruded aluminum. These curtain slats are available in both single wall and double wall aluminum. If visibility through the shutter is desired, we have multiple curtain slat options for visibility with perforations or clear polycarbonate.

Bottom Bars

Bottom bars are located at the bottom of the curtain, providing strength and durability to the shutter. Bottom bars are constructed of extruded aluminum and are available in standard or heavy duty. If a shutter requires a lock, the lock is most often located inside the bottom bar which secures the curtain when the shutter is in the closed position.

Box Housings

Box housings are located at the top of the shutter and house the curtain when it is in the open position. Inside the box housing is where all of the components are located which make the shutter operate, including the axle, spring, motor, and others. When the shutter is opened, the curtain rolls up onto the axle inside the box housing and out of sight. The box housing is constructed of both extruded and roll-formed aluminum.

RETRACTABLE SCREENS

Retractable screens are designed to protect you from insects, solar glare, harmful UV rays, high winds, and weather conditions while providing privacy.

Retractable screens are comprised of extruded aluminum components including guide rails, a box housing, curtain, and bottom bar.

Screens are motorized and controlled with remotes, switches, an app, or home automation systems for effortless control.

Guide Rails

Guide rails are located on either side of the retractable screen. These extruded aluminum guides are connected to the box housing and extend down to the bottom of the shutter. The guide rails hold the curtain screen in place and act as a track, guiding the curtain up and down. Pentagon guide rails are equipped with industry leading zipper technology. This zipper technology consists of a zipper on each side of the curtain, which slides up and down a channel inside the guide rail. If there is any significant force against the curtain such as high winds, pets, or forced entry the zippers on each side of the curtain will pop out of the guide rails and prevent the curtain from ripping. The guide rails also have built-in suspension to lessen the effects of wind and other forces against the curtain.

Curtain Textiles

There are multiple curtain textile options offered by Pentagon, each serving a different purpose with many color and design options.

Our Insect Plus textile is designed to protect against insects, sunlight, and wind while allowing enhanced visibility through the screen.

Our Insect Plus No-See-Um textile protects against all insects including the tiny annoying no-see-ums, as well as sunlight and wind protection.

Our Insect Plus Pet textile has a protective coating designed to protect against pets claws so the curtain down not rip or tear.

Amongst other curtain textile options are Shade 80, Shade 90, Shade 95, and Shade 97. These textiles feature a tighter weave for increased privacy and sunlight protection.

Bottom Bars

Bottom bars are located at the bottom of the curtain, providing strength and durability to the screen. Bottom bars are constructed of extruded aluminum and have a weight inside them to ensure the screen operates smoothly and the curtain is always pulled tightly and evenly. The bottom bar also has a weather strip brush.

Box housings are located at the top of the screen and house the curtain when it is in the open position. Inside the box housing is where all of the components are located which make the screen operate, including the axle, motor, and more. When the screen is opened, the curtain rolls up onto the axle inside the box housing and out of sight. The box housing is constructed of extruded aluminum.
